musiConnects 2012 Summer Camp was a HIT!

Picture
This July, resident musicians Josh Addison and Marji Gere led a one-week musiConnects summer music camp at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Roslindale. Our small but mighty group of six young cellists, violinists and violists tackled many projects, including:

-learning many lines of Pachelbel’s Canon in D,
-constructing cool harmonies and rhythmic grooves,
-composing and playing their own instrumental rounds,
-competing as music-theory-savvy long-jumpers, Twister players, and discus-throwers in their own Interval Olympics,
-and performing Pachelbel and original compositions at the Roslindale Farmer’s Market.

For summer 2013, funding willing, we are aiming for a longer session and hoping to include a larger number of students and teachers. However, we will work hard to re-capture the intimate, creative, lively atmosphere our group created together this summer. Are you interested in being on a mailing list about Camp 2013?
