musiConnects seeks a cellist to join its team of dedicated Resident Musicians to perform in its annual series of chamber music concerts and teach in its after-school education and mentoring programs. This is a 10-month position with the possibility of continuing.

Qualifications
Salary: $8,000-$10,000, depending on total hours, and does not include benefits. There is an opportunity to earn additional compensation with private teaching in our Roslindale studio.

Responsibilities
- Rehearse and perform chamber music (10-15 concerts/year)
- Teach approximately 12 cello students (6 hours/week)
- Actively participate in 4-5 student performances
- Attend regular staff meetings (bi-weekly)
- Participate in related administrative and planning activities (as assigned)
Qualifications
- Chamber music experience and passion for this art form
- Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment
- Self-motivated, well organized and energetic
- Ability to communicate and connect with diverse constituencies, including children and families with different cultural traditions and expectations
- Enthusiasm for community-based work
- Commitment to participating in building community through innovative and non-traditional approaches to music performance and education
- Passion for working with children, especially beginning students
- Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree preferred) in performance, education or equivalent work experience
