Roslindale Teaching Studio
|
Since 2007, musiConnects has offered free and low-cost music education programs to students in and around the Boston neighborhoods of Roslindale and Mattapan. We believe music education and live music are a right for all - not just the privileged few.
Our nurturing, student-centered curriculum emphasizes long-term mentorship; skill building on string instruments; and the development of transferable, extra-musical qualities such as patience, resilience, confidence, and self-expression. musiConnects' program centers 1:1 private lessons and small group classes that impart core chamber music values such as collaboration, community, and commitment. Our musiConnects students also have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities complementing their private lessons: three annual recitals, musiConnects' Performathon, All-Play experiences, side-by-side performances with the Great Hill String Quartet, guest artist workshops, and more. musiConnects students are connected with affordable, high-quality instruments, and many take part in additional enrichment opportunities, including local youth orchestras, Summer Intensives and mC², our teen leadership group.
For the 2026-27 school year, our offerings based at musiConnects' Roslindale Studio include:
Sliding Scale Tuition Program
musiConnects believes that all people deserve the chance to learn and make music on a string instrument, regardless of their ability to pay. We expect that many of our participants will not pay any tuition at all. Others might choose a reduced amount, and still others might pay the full cost. The Sliding Scale Tuition & Financial Aid Program document (linked here and downloadable below) explains how to find the fee that works best for your family.
musiConnects facilitates access to affordable instruments for a limited number of students receiving tuition-free or sliding-scale instruction. Families are charged a $50/student annual instrument rental fee for instruments provided by musiConnects. If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact [email protected].
