Since 2007, musiConnects has offered free and low-cost music education programs to students in and around the Boston neighborhoods of Roslindale & Mattapan. We believe music education and live music are a right for all - not just the privileged few.
Our nurturing, student-centered curriculum emphasizes long-term mentorship; skill building on string instruments; and the development of transferable, extra-musical qualities such as patience, resilience, confidence, and self-expression. musiConnects' program centers 1:1 private lessons and small group classes that impart core chamber music values such as collaboration, community, and commitment. Our musiConnects students take part in a range of activities complementing their private lessons: concert celebrations, solo recitals, Showcase performances, All-Play experiences, guest artist workshops, and more. musiConnects students are connected with affordable, high-quality instruments, and many take part in additional enrichment opportunities, including local youth orchestras, summer programs, and mC², our teen leadership group.

Sliding Scale Tuition Program
musiConnects believes that all people deserve the chance to learn and make music on a string instrument, regardless of their ability to pay. We expect that many of our participants will not pay any tuition at all. Others might choose a reduced amount, and still others might pay the full cost. The document below explains how to find the fee that works best for your family.
In addition to tuition, families are charged a $50/student annual instrument rental fee for instruments provided by musiConnects. If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact [email protected].
