Now in its 19th season, musiConnects fosters youth development and community connection through the craft of string playing. Our accessible, imaginative education and performance programs build lasting relationships between professional musicians, students, and residents in the Boston neighborhoods of Roslindale and Mattapan, and surrounding neighborhoods.
In the 2025-26 season, musiConnects serves over 100 students through sliding-scale or tuition-free private lessons and group classes at our Roslindale Studio and tuition-free group classes in our In-School Program at Mattahunt Elementary. Our students also engage in recitals and other performance opportunities in spaces such as libraries, community centers, and parks. We also offer musiConnects' Community Concert Series: an annual series of free performances in community spaces in Roslindale and Mattapan featuring the Great Hill String Quartet - a professional ensemble composed of our Resident Musicians - and side-by-side performances with student ensembles.
