Now in its 18th season, musiConnects fosters youth development and community connection through the craft of string playing. Our accessible, imaginative education and performance programs build lasting relationships between professional musicians, students, and residents in the Boston neighborhoods of Roslindale and Mattapan.
In the 2024-25 season, musiConnects will engage 60 students in sliding-scale or tuition-free private lessons and group classes at our Roslindale studio and another 30-50 students in tuition- free group classes in partnership with Mattahunt Elementary and other local schools. Our students also engage in performance opportunities, and present a series of concerts - featuring our faculty "Resident Musicians" and students, side-by-side - in community spaces such as libraries, community centers, and parks.
