Celebrating Our Students!
As we enter into our busy spring performance season, my thoughts turn to our inspiring graduating seniors. While we are sad to see them move on, I feel proud that we (you, teachers, students and families) have worked together to prepare them, not only for their capstone performances, but also for the next phase of their journey. How wonderful that - by making a contribution to musiConnects - you have the ability to support developing musicians as they blossom into young adults. Your gift to this appeal promises the same opportunities for our students coming up - from ages 6 to 16!
While they are with us, our aspirations for our students are high. We hope they develop the capacity to become imaginative and connect their personal identity to their music. We encourage them to collaborate with others in practice and performance, and to exhibit diplomacy and empathy. We are inspired as they develop core musical proficiencies and show commitment through regular practice. Our hearts grow when they perform competently and proudly in public.
In the long term, we hope that we have given our students an artistic toolset - collaboration and communication skills, instrumental technique and musical appreciation, discipline and problem-solving capabilities - that they can use to engage with others and enrich their lives.
None of this can happen without you! Thank you for reaching into your pockets to support the creative youth programming that you know to be essential.
Warmly,
Nancy Galluzzo
Executive Director
P.S. Come out and celebrate with us! The musiConnects third annual Performathon returns to the streets of Boston from June 4th to the 10th, with a kick-off celebration on June 3rd and a finale on June 11th. This year, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Performathon promises to be even more festive!
